Week 34 of 2010 Friday 27 August 2010
Party Conferences are almost upon us
The political party conference season is almost upon us, kicking off at the Liberal Democrat conference on 18 September. The FSB will have a stand at each of the conferences and John Walker and Mike Cherry will speak and participate in almost 20 fringe events across the three weeks. The stand will focus on the survey panel work, highlighting to ministers just how important it is. Find out more about the FSB survey panel.
Start-ups wanted
The FSB is looking for businesses that have started since the Emergency Budget on 22 June and are thinking about or have employed a member staff, to see if they know they can potentially get £5,000 off their employer NICs payments? A new Government policy will allow small businesses set up since June 2010 to reduce NICs payment for the first 10 employees it hires. Email us to tell your story.
ITV’s Tonight programme needs you
On 20 October the Chancellor will unveil the results of his spending review. Are you worried about the upcoming cuts and want to know what they will mean for you? The Tonight programme on ITV is looking for small business owners to take part in a viewer panel that will discuss the impact of the cuts on the lives of ordinary people. Filming will take place on 13 September. If you are interested email or phone 020 7157 4364.
Do you export?
First Voice is looking to hear from businesses that have identified overseas markets for their goods and services and have taken the plunge to export to them. Email if you’ve got a story to tell.
